Propria S.r.l. was founded in 1987 - from an experience begun in 1969 - by drawing from the internal structure and means of the in-house Zanussi-Electrolux Patent Office.

Propria S.r.l. was part of the Electrolux Group until April 2003 when the company was acquired by Valter Giugni, manager of the Zanussi-Electrolux Patent Office, and by Mario Gonella, former manager of the Industrial Property Office of the Benetton Group.

On May 1, 2003, Propria S.r.l. became a fully independent company operating at the national, European and international level in all areas relating to industrial property.
