Mr. Giugni began his career in 1964 at Pirelli S.p.A. He then moved to the in-house patent department of Olivetti S.p.A., and in 1969 joined the Zanussi Group, where he established the patent department, which he managed until 1987.

He then established Propria, of which he is now co-owner and CEO. As a member of ANIE (Italian Association of Electrical/Electronic Industries) he negotiated colour television licenses in Italy. For 20 years he represented Italian industry before the European Patent Office.

Mr. Giugni is a member of AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property) since 1969, of ECTA (European Communities Trade Mark Association) since 1993, and of the "Patent Working Group" in Confindustria (Rome) and UNICE (Brussels).
